What should our study of Hebrews look like?
Our goal as Christians should be to objectively search out the truth of the Bible. Although everyone comes to the task of Bible study with certain presuppositions, we must be prepared to set them aside if they are in conflict with what the Bible seems to be saying. As we make certain changes, we must then go back and study the Bible again to see if our new presuppositions fit or not. This is known as the hermeneutical spiral, and it will become our pattern of growth throughout our Christian life and our study of Hebrews.
What kind of Hebrews Bible studies will you find here?
It is our goal to present you with as much content on the book of Hebrews as we can. As far as we know, no one denomination has a monopoly on truth. As you study this wonderful New Testament book, keep in mind that all of the Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit, regardless of human involvement. As such, there should be an amount of congruency between books of the Bible, and although there are some things we may never understand in this life, there are some interpretive ideas that flat out defy a proper correlation with the rest of Scripture. The Holy Spirit will not contradict other words He has inspired! Bear that in mind as you study and search objectively for what God has attempted to reveal to us in His Word.
Should church tradition determine what the correct interpretation of Hebrews is?
It funny that almost every major denomination will claim roots in the earliest churches. Likewise, almost every major belief can be traced to the earliest churches. This makes it hard to say that church history should dictate what the intended meaning of the Bible is. Is it likely that Satan's forces have influenced all denominations to some extent? If your answer is no, then you probably don't belong here; you have an agenda that isn't objective or truth-seeking. If you answered yes, then you've probably come to the conclusion that Satan seeks to do as much damage as he can human beings, whether it be to keep them from Heaven, fellowship with God, or effectiveness for God's Kingdom.
